Food providers sponsors

At the Conference all fruit juices will be provided by Cal Valls, cola and guarana drinks by SOMos51. The food, sauces, pasta, etc, -all vegetarian and from ecological agriculture-, will be provided by Vegetalia and from Luz de Vida. The Organization thanks enormously all of them.

12 of June - deadline for registration and accommodation

12th of June is the last day to proceed with payments for registration and accommodation. After that day reserves for accommodation and participants fees not paid will be cancelled. The Organization cannot assure room to participate at the Conference if you don't proceed with your payments before 12th of June.

A new flight line will be operating from Barcelona (international airport) to Granada since 29th of June. Book your travel here.

Published the list of submitted abstracts

On line the list of abstracts received until December 1st 2005. The Scientific Committee starts the selection of posters and papers to be presented at the Conference auditorium.

The International Solar Energy Society (ISES) has become a new supporter of the event and a sponsor as a "Friend of the Conference" category.

   
Advisory Committee

Dr. Lester Brown has joined the Honour Committee as an international advisor for the 2006 Solar Cookers and Food Processing International Conference.

Founder and President of Earth Policy Institute, Lester Brown has been described by the Washington Post as “one of the world’s most influential thinkers” and as “the guru of the global environmental movement” by The Telegraph of Calcutta. The author of numerous books, including Plan B: Rescuing a Planet under Stress and a Civilization in Trouble where he develops a vision for an environmentally sustainable economy, chapters, articles, etc., he helped pioneer the concept of environmentally sustainable development. His principal research areas include food, population, water, climate change, and renewable energy.

The recipient of scores of awards and honorary degrees, he is widely sought as a speaker. In 1974, he founded Worldwatch Institute, of which he was President for its first 26 years. As President, he launched the World Watch Papers, the Worldwatch/Norton books, the annual State of the World report, the bimonthly magazine World Watch, the annual Vital Signs, and the Institute’s News Briefs.

Advisory Committee

Dr. Vandana Shiva has joined the Honour Committee as an international advisor for the 2006 Solar Cookers and Food Processing International Conference.

Vandana Shiva, physicist, feminist, philosopher of science, writer and science policy advocate, is the Director of The Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Natural Resource Policy. She serves as an ecology advisor to several organizations including the Third World Network and the Asia Pacific People's Environment Network.

In 1993 she was the recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, commonly known as the "Alternative Nobel Prize". A contributing editor to People-Centered Development Forum, she has also written several works include, Staying Alive, The Violence of the Green Revolution, Biopiracy: The Plunder of Nature and Knowledge, Monocultures of the Mind and Water Wars: Privatization, Pollution, and Profit.

Abstracts submission

Deadline for submitting abstracts delayed until December 1st 2005.

In order to have a wider spreading of the Conference and receive more abstracts, we agreed to delay 2 months the deadline date. Thanks to all who have already submitted them.
